Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 1:39PM • Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited)
• Super Target coupons can be used in any Target store if the store carries the item
• We gladly accept valid internet coupons
Because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target.
When accepting coupons, we use the following guidelines:
• We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued.
• We'll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can't give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.
• We can't accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
• All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier while you're checking out.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 1:31PM Rite Aid:
You can use a manufacturer's coupon with a Rite Aid coupon at anytime as long as the two combine do not exceed the amount of the item you are purchasing. Rite Aid accepts all internet coupons as long as the value of the coupon is below $5.00. Also, you can use more than one coupon per transaction.
Whenever an item is on sale you can use a coupon on the item as long as the value of the coupon does not exceed the value of the item itself. For instance; if you have a coupon for a $1.00 off and the item is on sale for $0.99, the coupon cannot be used as it exceeds the value of the item being purchased. I hope this explains in further detail the coupon policy for you.
When items are featured on a buy one get one free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long a the net price does not go below zero for the item being purchased.
Rite Aid accepts the $5 off $25 or more before all other coupons are used. This was changed recently so if you have difficulty simply have the manager contact 1-800-RITEAID for information.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 12:00PM Effective September 2008, all Safeway owned stores accept legitimate, printable manufacturer’s and in-store coupons (“Printable Coupons”) pursuant to this policy. We recently engaged Coupons, Inc. to offer Printable Coupons on www.safeway.com and the websites of other Safeway owned companies. Help us make your shopping experience a pleasant one and prevent the abuse of this program by keeping in mind the following rules applicable to Printable Coupons.
We can only accept Printable Coupons if they scan properly at the register. Printable Coupons are delivered using special software, designed to print a properly rendered barcode and limit the number printed.
It is not an industry practice and we will not accept Printable Coupons for "FREE product" (i.e., no purchase required). Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other varieties that have a purchase requirement are acceptable.
We will not accept Printable Coupons for more than 50% of a product's value. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off Printable Coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 will not be accepted. If there are exceptions, we are usually provided an advance notice by the applicable manufacturer upon which we will pass the appropriate savings, if any, onto you.
Printable Coupons will be rejected if they appear to be distorted or blurry, or are altered in any way or copied. You should always print them directly from the website or email that is offering it. Printable Coupons will never appear on your computer screen or sent as a graphic, PDF or Word document.
Printable Coupons are non-transferable, and should not be copied, scanned, sold, traded, or otherwise distributed to others. They have unique serial numbers printed on them and follow an industry-standard format.
For more information about using Printable Coupons and to check for validity please visit the Coupon Resource Center online at www.printcoupons.com.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 12:00PM (Thanks to Hot Coupon World for this write-up...print 'em off for your own "safety")
This was taken from the Employee Training Manual that my store Director gave Hot Coupon World.
She directly scanned and then copied/pasted.
Coupons — Definition
Coupons are a form of tender presented by the customer to reduce their order total based on merchandise purchased in stores where the retailer has agreed to accept manufacturer coupons. Retailers are not required by law to accept manufacturers’ coupon. Coupons can be printed and/or in electronic form, and maybe integrated into the register systems where they are deducted automatically when all purchase requirements are met.
Approved Coupon Types
The following coupon types are accepted by Albertsons:
1. Manufacturer Coupons are coupons issued by the manufacturer containing: “terms of agreement”, face value, expiration date, and verbiage “manufacturer coupon.” Albertsons may issue coupons such as printed ad media coupons, avenu, or Shop n’ Scan coupons that are manufacturer coupons that contain the words “redeemable only at Albertsons.” Most manufacturer coupons have barcodes on them arid can be scanned. Any coupons that do not scan or have barcodes should be checked for validity of expiration date and purchase requirements.
2. Store Coupons are your Company’s discount offers in various forms of media including, but not limited to, print, electronic, newspaper, direct mailers, kiosks and Company websites. Store coupons may also contain the words “redeemable only at Albertsons” (or a banner of Albertsons). Store coupons may state that the discount applies only with Preferred CardISuper CardlLoyalty Card.
3. Catalina Checkout Coupons/Rebates are triggered by individual items purchased at checkout which print on the Catalina printer. It is Albertsons’ policy to allow these coupons to be used only for next purchase. Catalina coupons can only be given to the customer for whom they were intended (not to any other customer or associate). If a customer does not want their Cataiina coupons, it is Albertsons’ policy that the cashier destroy them immediately. Catalina checkout coupons printed at other retailers may be accepted for redemption following the manufacturer/competitor store coupon guidelines.
4. Internet Coupons printed from a website are redeemable with a qualifying purchase. Albertsons DOES NOT
accept Internet coupons containing the following conditions:
a. ‘Free’ product offers that do not require a purchase
b. Redemption value exceeds $5.00
c. Absence of UPC bar code
5. Competitor Coupons are other retailers’ company discount offers. Competitor coupons maybe honored on merchandise purchased at your store at the face value of the coupon within the valid dates of the coupon. Competitor coupons may not be doubled or tripled and may not be used with an Albertsons store coupon. Customers may choose between offers (Albertsons or the competitor’s) to receive the best price as long as the value of the product is not exceeded. It is Albertsons’ policy for cashiers to abide by the competitor coupon rules as stated in our stores as it applies to value limits and number of competitor coupons per transaction.
Coupon Policy
All Associates who operate a register must adhere to Albertsons Coupon Policy and abide by the coupon policies and guidelines as stated above. Coupons are intended for one time use and cannot be redeemed more than once.
Albertsons expects all associates to conduct themselves with integrity and honesty.
All Associates who operate a register are responsible for providing excellent customer service; this includes, but is not limited to, accurately recording sales of items and coupons and collecting tender in full. All coupons tendered must have a corresponding sale for the product listed and amount specified, and only at the time of purchase. Albertsons does not accept fraudulently produced coupon offers, whether through use of a personal computer or(end of page)

Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 12:00PM The following is a response from Walgreens in January addressing many coupon policy/issues. Feel free to print this and bring with you to Walgreens. The reference number at the bottom is on file with Walgreens if they have any questions.
January 12, 2009
Dear valued customer,
Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We
appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received.
1. Can I use one IVC and one manufacturers coupon per item? YES
2. How does it work if the face value of a coupon or coupons (IVC and
manufacturers) is greater than the price of the item? THE ITEM WOULD BE
FREE, NO CASH VALUE
3. I noticed that almost ALL of the IVC coupons now state that they cannot
be used in conjunction with any other offer. Does other offer refer to
manufacturer coupons, sale items, or something else? IVC AND OTHER COUPONS
MAY BE APPLIED TO THE SAME ITEM
4. BOGO Questions; Examples:
Q: If you have Rimmel cosmetics on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free, the
price is
4.99 for 1 or if I buy 2 I get the discount and they ring up as 2.49
and 2.50.
Can I use 2 manufacturer coupons? One coupon for each one Im
purchasing since I
have to buy 2 to get the discount? Such as 2 coupons that are 1 off each?
A: Buy one get one free - one item will be rung up free. You can use 2 MFR
coupons on the product you are paying for because the # of coupons cannot
exceed the # of items scanned.
Q: What about If you are having a store promotion for Buy 1 Get 1
Free and I
have a manufacturers coupon for Buy 1 Get 1 Free Do I get both Items
Free and
just pay the sales tax?
A: Yes.
7. I understand that managers are allowed to limit the number of items
purchased even if there is no limit stated in the weekly flyer. However, is
there any minimum acceptable number? For example, I actually had a manager
tell me that customers were only allowed to purchase 1 of the Garnier
Fructis (on sale for 1 this week)!!! That just seems like a ridiculously
low number, and a person couldnt even purchase a shampoo AND conditioner
without leaving the store and coming back at a later time.
THERE IS NO SET LIMIT BYU CORPORATE UNLESS STATED ON THE COUPON. MANAGAMENT
HAS THE DISCRETION TO LIMIT ANY AD ITEM.
8. When a coupon states one per purchase, does that mean one coupon per
item,
or one per transaction? ONE PER ITEM PURCHASED
9. Can I use more than one Register Rewards in a transaction?
# OF COUPONS CAN NOT EXCEED # OF ITEMS
10. Can I use Register Rewards in a transaction that will print out other
(different product) Register Rewards? THIS DEPENDS ON THE TRANSACTION. IF
THE SAME $ AMOUNT R.R. IS USED FROM THE SAME MFCTR IT WILL NOT PRINT
11. Is there anywhere in Walgreens stores where we can call Walgreens
customer service number if we feel as though policies are not being
followed correctly? And is there a customer service number that we can call
after hours for the stores that are open 24 hours? YOU MAY CALL
800-925-4733 DURING BUSINESS HOURS. WE ARE IN TRANSITION OF OPENING 24-7.
Again, thank you for contacting our corporate office. We truly appreciate
you taking the time to share your comments.
Sincerely,
April S.
