Welcome to the New and Improved Site!

In this post, I will give you my reasons for switching to SquareSpace, explain some of the new features, and show you where to leave questions, comments, and concerns about the new site.  I try to constantly improve Confessions of a Couponaholic in order to better serve YOU, the reader.

First, my reasons for the switch.  I noticed many people switching from Blogger to Wordpress.  I really have no problem with either blogging platform.  Some fellow bloggers have had major issues with Blogger, of which I have had none.  However, I wanted to make a more professional presence in the couponing world.  This is when my husband comes in.  He loves everything tech.  He introduced me to SquareSpace, which is kind of an all-in-one hosting/designing site.  He has helped me develop the site, of which is and always will be a work in progress.

Change is not always comfortable.  I hoped to bring everything readers liked about my old blog to the new site.  One thing readers liked was my blogroll on the left hand column of my old blog.  I have tried to improve this in several ways.  (1) I have a tab at the top of my site (called the navigation bar) which is called blogroll.  It has a page called "buttons" which contains the buttons for my favorite sites along with direct links to them.  (2) I have created a reading list on Google Reader.  My husband discovered this service and it is awesome!  You will notice it on the left hand side of the new site.  It is titled "Coupons to Clip" and it appears to be a list of links to fellow couponaholics.  While this is true, it is even better.  It is actually a link to their direct feeds and you can click  on the bottom of this list  to see posts from all of these couponaholics in chronological order without having to go to all of their sites!  I love this feature! (3) I also love that the new site has a discussion board.  This is a place where couponing banter can take place without getting lost in the comments of buried posts.  This is also the place where I will keep track of questions, comments, and concerns about the site.  That way I can answer a question once and other readers can view both the question and the answer.

While these are just a few of the new features, I would appreciate it if you just "tooled around" the site (as my husband calls it).  Check it out, then head over to the discussion board (see the tab on the nav bar) to leave me feedback.

Thanks for being loyal readers!
