Register Rewards and Manufacturer Coupons:
If you shop at Walgreens you will want to be familiar with Register Rewards (RR). A Register Reward is a Manufacturer Coupon that prints out from a Catalina machine at the register after you have completed your transaction. The RR prints out when you have pruchased a participating product that is either advertised in the weekly ad or marked with signage in the store. When paying with a RR you can only use one RR or Manufacturer Coupon per item purchased. For example if you are purchasing 3 items, you can only use one RR if you are using a Manufacturer Coupon for each of the other items. If you use more than one Manufacturer Coupon per item the register will beep. If you have a combination of more RR and Manufacturer Coupons than items, look for a “filler” item to add to your purchase. Some examples of “filler” items are clearance items, small candies, etc. Walgreens Store Coupons or in-ad Coupons do not count towards your Coupon to Item ratio.

If you purchase more than one of the same Register Reward participating items per transaction, you will only receive one RR. To get more than one Register Reward Coupon when purchasing participating products, each item will have to be a separate transaction. You can purchase different products that each produce a Register Reward in one transaction and you will get multiple RR.
.:.
Another rule with Register Rewards is that they do not roll. For example if you purchased Johnson's Baby Shampoo and got a $1.00 RR, you can't use that Register Reward to buy another Johnson's Baby Shampoo. You will not get another RR. On the flip side, you can use a RR from Johnson's Baby Shampoo to buy John Frieda Shampoo and get that qualifying RR.

If an Register Reward doesn't print, make sure to see that the Catalina machine in working. Look for the green light to be blinking on the top right of the machine. If you bought the correct qualifying merchandise and the RR does not print you can return the merchandise and have them re-ring the purchase. Another option is to call the Catalina Company directly at 1-888-8COUPON. A representative will ask for information for the receipt and what item that you purchased along with what RR you were expecting to print. If you did buy the correct merchandise they will mail you a Register Reward to your house within 2-3 weeks.

Walgreens Store Coupons:
Walgreens Coupons are available in the weekly ads as well as the monthly Coupon Booklets found in-store. Walgreens Coupons do not count towards the Coupon to item ratio. If using a combination of Walgreens Store Coupons and Manufacturer Coupons, always hand over the Manufacturer Coupons first. By doing this if you have an overage after Coupons it will allow the Coupon overage to go towards other products. If you give them the Walgreens Store Coupon first and you have overage, the Manufacturer Coupon will beep and they likely will not take it.
.:.
When you are using a combination of Walgreens coupons and manufacturer coupons, always hand over the manufacturer coupons first and then the Walgreens store coupons. Why? Well, lets say by using both coupons your final cost will result in coupon overage to go towards other items. If you use the manufacturer coupon after the Walgreens store coupon it will beep because it realizes that the value of the coupon is greater than the value of the item… BUT if you hand the manufacturer coupon over first it won’t realize this and both coupons will go through without any beeps and you’ll get the coupon overage!

Rain Checks:
Walgreens does issues Rain Checks. Rain checks are good for in-store purchases only and valid for 30 days after being issued.
.:.
Buy One, Get One FREE Items:
If there is a Buy One Get One FREE or Buy One Get One 50% Off Promotion, you can use one Coupon for each of the items. You can also use a Buy One Get One FREE coupon for items that are currently part of a Buy One Get One FREE sale. This will make both items FREE, Walgreens is paying for one of the items and the Manufacturer is reimbursing them for the other FREE product.
.:.
Customer Service:
If you have an issue with a cashier, ask to speak with the Store Manager. If you are unable to resolve the issue with the manager, make sure to get the Managers name and then call Customer Service. The phone number is 1-800-WALGREENS or 1-800-925-4733.
